CHIPOLOPOLO striker Collins Mbesuma believes Zambia will lift the CAF Under-20 AfCON trophy when they take on Senegal in tomorrow’s final.
In an interview from South Africa, the Highlands Park player said the young Chipolopolo players needed to maintain discipline on and off the pitch in order to succeed.
“…yes they can win. They just have to keep the same spirit. And I am happy to see the way fans are supporting the team. I wish them [the players] good luck. They have done very well,” Mbesuma said.
He said despite the talent the U-20 had exhibited in the tournament, the players needed to work hard and exhibit high levels of discipline.
“They have the talent but talent is nothing if you are not working extra hard and undisciplined. They should be looking after themselves outside the pitch,” Mbesuma advised.
And Mbesuma, who injured his knee last November, said he had recovered and would soon return to the pitch.
“I have started training with the team so maybe next week or the other week, I will play. I am focusing on getting better every day,” said Mbesuma.
