FAZ PRESIDENT Andrew Kamanga says the country has made a historic achievement by reaching the final of the U-20 AfCON for the first time.

And the Zambia U-20 team has been invited to participate in a four nations’ tournament by South Korea, a month before the world cup, which will also be staged in that country.

The junior Chipolopolo last evening played Senegal in the final of the competition in which they never lost a game, subsequently qualifying to the World Cup in May.

“Reaching the final is very significant because it is the first, history has been made! And clearly, we have achieved something very important. In addition, we have been invited to a four nations’ tournament in South Korea, so it’s gratifying that people are seeing the progress we are making. It’s a very important step and we can only wish the boys good luck,” said Kamanga who further appealed to football councillors to set aside personal interests and pass the revised constitution and the reforms as demanded by FIFA because “failure to do so will result in the Zambia U-20 failing to participate in the World Cup as the country would be banned by FIFA”.
