Zambia seeks slot at Africa Cup basketball games

THE Zone Six AFROBASKET basketball tournament kicks off at Lusaka’s NASDEC today as Zambia seeks qualification to the Africa Cup later this year.

Three countries, including Angola and South Africa, are taking part in the five-day tournament following the withdrawal of Sychelles.

The team that will emerge winner will join Mozambique that has already qualified to the Congo Brazzaville Games in August.

AFROBASKET local organising committee media chairperson Danny Mwikisa said all is set for the tournament.

He said the Zambia national basketball team had prepare adequately and stood a great chance to win the tournament.
