FORMER World Boxing Council bantamweight champion Catherine Phiri will return to the ring in July as she faces Matshidiso Mokebisi of South Africa.
Catherine lost her title to Mexico’s Mariana Juarez a fortnight ago in a unanimous decision.
Prior to her loss, Catherine had held the title since January 2016.
Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions director Christopher Malunga said the Catherine-Mokebisi bout would take place in Ndola on July 29.
“We are also working on Charles Manyuchi’s next opponent; we’ll announce once contractual agreement is agreed by both parties,” said Malunga.
Manyuchi also lost his WBC Silver Championship three weeks ago after being knocked out by Qudratillo Anduquaxorov in Singapore.
