Gabon friendly for local players – Wedson
CHIPOLOPOLO coach Wedson Nyirenda says this weekend’s friendly against Gabon will feature local players, excluding those from Zanaco and Zesco United.
Speaking to journalists after a morning training session at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka today, Nyirenda said he was still building a team that would attain positive results.
“The [player] turnout has not been so bad. We still await six players – four from Nkana , one from Buildcon and one from Green Eagles. We will have the full house this afternoon,” said Nyirenda.
“The Gabon team will be purely for local players. We are still building the team. We have this team in camp plus other players from Zesco and Zanaco. So we will fuse them together. The players are looking very good. We will leave for Gabon on Thursday at 07:00 hours via South Africa.”
The Chipolopolo boys are scheduled to play another friendly against Mozambique as part of their preparations for the upcoming CHAN championship.
