Squash season begins

THE 2017 Zambia Squash Association League season swings into action this weekend.
ZSA general secretary Chomba Mwansa stated in a statement that the season would run up to December.
The ZSA League is played in two zones, with the Northern and Midlands winners and runners-up facing off in a championship play-off stage played at one venue over a weekend.


The Zambia Squash Association 2017 League commences this weekend on 17th June 2017. A total of 14 teams will take part,

Chomba stated.
“The league will run up to December 2017. This year, we have new teams.  An interesting new entrant is UNZA. We have students playing squash at the highest learning institution.”
Chomba said Week One of the Northern Zone would be played at Konkola Squash Club in Chililabombwe.
Lusaka Squash Club will host Week One matches for the Midlands Zone.
ZNS Squash Club of Lusaka are the defending champions after beating Northern Region champions Nkana Squash Club of Kitwe 5-0 in the 2016 ZSA Champions of Champions playoff hosted in Ndola a fortnight ago.
