A Zambian pastor and three of his family members have survived a fatal road accident in South Africa after the vehicle they were in overturned.
Pastor David Mwamba Zuze, who is based in South Africa, was travelling with his wife and his two sons identified as Bill Zuze, 23 and Gracious Zuze, 12 when the accident happened on the Umtata-Johannesburg high way after their vehicle had a tire burst.
The accident happened about 70 kilometres south of Johannesburg as the family was returning home to Umtata, Eastern Cape Province, after attending a school event for one of their close family members in Johannesburg,
according to a statement issued by first secretary for press at the Zambian High Commission in Pretoria Naomi Nyawali.
“Pastor Zuze’s youngest son, Gracious, has been evacuated to Busamed Private hospital in Johannesburg where he has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit as his condition was critical in a coma while Bill, has been admitted to Baragwaneth hospital in Nelspruit after sustaining a suspected fractured spine.
However, Pastor Zuze and his wife were discharged after undergoing medical examinations.”
And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba said the Mission was making efforts to provide assistance to pastor Zuze’s family.
