SECOND placed NAPSA Stars will be looking to go top of the table with a win over bottom club Real Nakonde in week 15 of the MTN/FAZ Super League at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
And inconsistent Red Arrows face struggling Nchanga Rangers, hoping to move into third place up the ladder.
NAPSA, once regarded as ‘madalas’ as a team was made of a cocktail of ‘tired legs’, has now rebranded into a youthful and very competitive team under the tutelage of Tenant Chilumba.
And it’s not a surprise to football followers that the Lusaka-based team is now challenging for the title.
NAPSA have 25 points while leaders Lusaka Dynamos, who are not in action this weekend, have 26 points.
Chilumba’s side will go to 28 points with a victory over the Nakonde side that is so desperate to move out of the base of the league table.
Nakonde will be depleted in the midfield after losing star midfielder and captain Mathews Silavwe to Nkana at the start of the mid-season transfer window.
It just has eight points from 13 games and only managed a draw in the last six games, losing five.
In the next game of this double-header, Arrows coach Honour Janza will be working to join the title race in the top four but that will depend on results from matches played yesterday involving Power Dynamos, Nkwazi and Forest Rangers.
Rangers who fired coach Bruce Mwape last week will be working hard to improve their points tally from 13 to 18 and at least move from 16th position.
