Lundazi police arrest two G12 pupils for break-ins

POLICE in Lundazi have arrested two grade 12 pupils at Mpingozi Day Secondary School in connection with a number of break-ins in the district.

 

 

 

Eastern Province police commissioner Alex Chilufya said the suspects are believed to have committed the crimes between December 2016 and July 16, 2017.

 

 

We have arrested Cephas Phiri, 21 of Chapadzi Compound in Lundazi  and Mwila Isaac, 24, Mayadi Compound in Lundazi, both grade 12 pupils at Mpingozi Day Secondary School in chieftainess Mwasempangwe’s area. They have been behind a number of break-ins in Lundazi by way of cutting the roofing iron sheets as entry and exit. Between December 2016 and 16th July 2017, the duo moved from school where they’re weekly boarders to come and break into shops at Lundazi town centre,

Chilufya said.

 

 
He said Mwila was caught committing the same crime on Sunday.
“The two have since confessed to eight out of 10 break-ins so far. They will appear in court soon,” said Chilufya.
