POWER Dynamos striker Alex Ngonga has been delayed in camp for the Chipolopolo owing to traditional marriage procedure, says coach Wedson Nyirenda.
The Power Dynamos 2014 player of the year was given his first national team call-up that year.
Owing to his recent good form at his club, the national team has included him the squad that is fighting for a slot at the CHAN 2018, but has not yet reported in camp.
Nyirenda, however, disclosed that the striker would join the camp later in the day.
We are still awaiting the arrival of Ngonga, we called him (but) he had some family commitments, something to do with his marriage. I don’t know how you call chilanga mulilo muchisungu, showing fire,
So I think he will be coming any time, the (team) manager told me he started off this morning, he will be arriving any time.
Ngonga’s contribution to the dethroning of NAPSA as super league log leaders seems to have earned him a place into Nyirenda’s 20-man squad that is expected to battle it out against Bafana Bafana for a slot at the 2018 CHAN.
