LUSAKA Dynamos coach Patrick Phiri was left excited after his side left Ndola with six points to move into second position on the MTN/FAZ Super League table.
After beating Zesco United on Thursday at Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Dynamos returned to the same venue where they beat fellow big-spenders Buildcon 2-1 to move into second position with 39 points, just two points behind leaders Zesco who have 41 points after beating Nchanga Rangers 1-0 in Chililabombwe.
Speaking after beating Buildcon, Phiri said his team was over the moon after the two results.
“We are over the moon with happiness that we managed to collect maximum points here on the Copperbelt against strong opposition like Zesco United and Buildcon,” Phiri said.
“Buildcon played well and scored us early but because we want to maintain our objective. I commend the players for rallying and determination to get the equaliser and win; I am proud of them. Today they showed a special spirit, good character and if we maintain on this route, better things can come.”
And Buildcon assistant coach John Lungu said: “We lost concentration, especially the back four and the goalkeeper there was no communication like what they were doing in the first half. The games are still on; we will keep on fighting. This is not the end of the league and we still have more games to play so we will be pushing.”
In the other game played on Sunday, City of Lusaka’s free fall continued as they succumbed to 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Konkola Blades.
