SHEPOLOPOLO coach Albert Kachinga says that the team will plan well for Thursday’s semi final clash against South Africa at the ongoing COSAFA Castle Cup.
In a post match interview after his side thrashed Madagascar 7-1 to qualify to the semi finals where they will meet Group C winners South Africa, Kachinga said that his lasses still have a lot more to give at the tournament that has seen them emerge as tournament favourites.
“I am happy that we are through to the semi finals of the Cosafa. We did not play to our fullest potential. I know the opposition from Madagascar was not really what we had expected,” he said.
“We need to plan for the semi final. We have to play well to get to the finals.”
Zambia’s Barbara Banda was named Player of the Match after inspiring Zambia to victory at Barbourfields Stadium.
The Shepolopolo defeated Malawi 6-3 in the opening game before drawing 1-all with Zimbabwe but came out blazing in the final match where they whitewashed the Islanders 7-1.
Zambia’s best showings at the Cosafa is a bronze medal in 2002 and 2006 and is hoping to turn a corner at the 2017 edition of the tournament.
