FAZ to act against unregistered intermediaries abrogating rules

THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says it has received with dismay information that certain individuals and entities are purportedly operating in Zambia as FIFA intermediaries without the necessary registration and approvals from the association.
FAZ secretary general Ponga Liwewe stated that the association is further informed that the said persons and entities have engaged in player transfers without following laid down procedures.
Liwewe said some had gone to the extent of illegally demanding huge pay-outs from players’ incomes thereby threatening the survival and even careers of some players; among them members of the Zambia national soccer team.
“FAZ wishes to advise that investigations have been instituted and once concluded; culprits shall be strongly dealt with in accordance with laid down procedures as well as reported to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further action,” said Liwewe.
