4 Omega Fire Ministries church members appears in court for obstruction

FOUR members of Omega Fire Ministries yesterday appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty of obstructing immigration officers from arresting their Nigerian Pastor Austin Ebosele.

The four members of the Church are alleged to have resisted the arrest and deportation of Pastor Ebosele, who was illegally staying in the country last month. It is alleged that Florister Sinywimainzi, Trevor Bunga, Lackson Mwanza and Cooley Musukwa on October 31 at Flat number 13 in Ibex Hill, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, willfully obstructed immigration officers in the due execution of their duties.

After denying the charge, the accused applied for bail, which magistrate Kunda Tantameni granted.

He ordered the accused to pay K2,000 bail in their own recognsance with two working sureties.

Trial is expected to commence on January 23.

At the time pastor Ebosele was being deported for staying in the country illegally, his family and some church members resisted his arrest  by locking themselves up in the house
