FORMER Zambia U-20 player Changwe Kalale has died.
Kalale died in the early hours today after having been admitted to the University Teaching Hospital.
Kalale has been confined to the wheelchair following a road accident whilst heading for national duty in December 2014.
According to fazfootball.com, Changwe’s mother, Angela, confirmed the death of his son.
The gifted promising midfielder got injured with other players on a Zesco United bus which was involved in an accident in December 2014.
Changwe sustained a spine injury in the accident that happened in Kabwe.
Four people lost their lives on the spot while eight, including Changwe, former Zesco and Chipolopolo defender Nyambe Mulenga and Green Eagles goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa, escaped with injuries.
The COSAFA organizing committee had planned a solidarity gesture with Kalale where a signed tournament T-Shirt was due to be presented to him.
