SHE is one of very few female Dancehall artists in Zambia who has come to set the terrain ablaze.
Dalitso Phiri, whose stage name is Dalivao, sometimes performs with her cousin, Anivao, and together they are called Davaos.
Her music career started in 2005 but only had a successful recording in 2011.
“We are a dancehall pair of Dalivao and Anivao and together we’re Davaos. We started singing in 2005 and started recording seriously in 2011. We first recorded at K Army studio and later recorded our hit song titled, TV, where we featured Tyce, T-Sean, Kay-Figo, Slap-Dee,” Dalivao said.
“Others are Kaladoshias, Badman Shapy of the group Urban Hype and Mic Burner.”
Dalivao speaks highly of some of her hit songs that have ushered her onto the Zambian music landscape.
“We have done songs like TV, Pabachimo that features Kay Figo, Yanga sili common that features Slap Dee and Data DAT on which we collaborated with T-Sean,” she said.
“Another blast to our name is Real Love that features Kaladoshias, Mic Burner and Badman Shapy. Our new song which we are promoting is Biscuit, which talks about a lady crying about a lost lover,” said Dalivao.
