POWER Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga is still on light training as he continues to recover from an injury he suffered during last month’s Total African Nations Championships in Morocco.
Ng’onga was injured in the opening group game against Uganda that Zambian won 3-1 but never recovered and missed Zambia’s next three games in the tournament.
Godfrey Ngwenya is another player that has struggled to recover since he injured his knee in a friendly against Orlando Pirates enroute to Morocco for the CHAN finals.
A check at Arthur Davies Stadium yesterday found the duo doing light training on the side-lines as the rest of team was in full contact training.
“Alex and Godfrey, when they came back from CHAN, they did a bit of light training like right now if you see. They just doing light training they are being assessed by our medical staff. So they are yet to start full contact training,” team manager Lombe Chipupu said in an interview.
And Chipupu confirmed that four Congolese are undergoing trials at the club and that the technical bench was assessing four players from the club academy Young Power FC with a view to promoting them to senior team before the transfer window closes.
“We have got these juniors from young power, there is Linos Makwaza, Robert Makadani, Zindaba Banda and Fred Mulambi. These are our boys so there are no issues. They are training with us, since where we went (Mongu) we were just doing physical training now, they will be doing full training. So we want to see before the window closes the boys that will join the senior team. We may decide to one back or we may decide to keep everyone but since they are our boys there are no issues,” said Chipupu./
