ZAMBIA has so far won 14 individual medals at the ongoing CANA IV Championships in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The tournament, which began on Wednesday and ends on Saturday, has 202 participants from 14 countries.
According to the Zambia Swimming Union’s Facebook page yesterday, Team Zambia has so far minted gold through
Tilka Paljik (50m breastroke 17 and over),
Mia Phiri (100m backstroke),
Naested Smit (17 and over backstroke)
Antonia Loacopoulus (12 and under backstroke), and the Men 14 and under 200 metres and
Women 15 and over 200m relay teams.
The silver medals have come through
Mia Phiri (13-14 50m breastroke), Johanna Buys (17 and over 50m breastroke) and Liam Rumball (12 and under 100m short course backstroke).
There were also silver medals for the
women 14 and under – 200m and men 15 and over – 200m relay teams.
Naested Smit (800m),
Abbie Samaras (12 and under Breastroke),
Khushal Fernando (12 and under 50m breastroke),
Damien Shamambo (50m breastroke),
Kumaren Naidu (50m breastroke),
Brandon Rumball (100m backstroke),
Johanna Buys (17 and over 100m backstroke) all took bronze in their respective races.
