ZESCO United striker Lazarous Kambole says scoring three winning goals in 72 hours for two different teams is a great feeling.
Kambole on Sunday scored a last gasp goal for Zesco against Asec Mimosa in Ivory Coast to qualify his team to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
And on Wednesday, he scored a last-gasp equaliser for Chipolopolo against Zimbabwe and scored the winning penalty to take Zambia through to the final of the four nations tournament.
“It feels great, it’s a great feeling to score for both club and country in a short space of time. I really thank the coach for the confidence to introduce me in the dying 10 minutes. He knows what I can do so it’s a good feeling,”
And Kambole said Zesco was bidding to go beyond the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. Zesco have been drawn with Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland, Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and Premeiro De Agosto of Angola in the group stage.
“Every team in the competition is tough but we are determined this time we are looking to even go beyond the semi-finals,” said Kambole.
Zesco reached the semi-finals of Africa’s premier club competition in 2016 under George Lwandamina.
