ZANACO Masters 2018 today heats up as golfers make the last round of the tournament which teed off last Thursday.
The tournament’s favourite putter Madalitso Muthiya remains in contention of the title chase which has not been won by a Zambian in the recent past.
By midday yesterday, South Africa’s Alex Haindl had climbed to the top of the leader board at 11 under par with five more holes to go while Muthiya had finished and only made a 1 under par after putting 71 out of 72.
Dayne Moore, who also made the cut and gave Zambian golfers some hope, finished 8 over par sending him to the bottom of the board.
First Republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda, who graced the third day of the tournament, wished the participants “genuine happiness”.
“I wish them [golfers] genuine happiness and enjoyment in the game and we do congratulate Zanaco for the nice organisation…” said Dr Kaunda.
The teeing and putting continues until later in the day when the winner of the over K1,500,000 will be crowned.
