THREE players from Division One side Lundazi United sustained injuries after the bus they were in was involved in an accident near Sinda on Monday.
Assistant team manager Adams Ngwenya, who was also on the bus, confirmed the incident on Monday.
“We had a breakdown after Luangwa Bridge. We changed the tyre but the
way we changed was not all that good because we didn’t have a jack so
we had to lift the vehicle with the players so that we put a spare tyre. When we started off, we noticed that there was a problem with the vehicle so we wanted to fix that problem as we go but unfortunately the driver forgot, so the rear tyre came out near Sinda,” Ngwenya said.
He said three players sustained injuries but were out of danger.
Ngwenya said Wisdom Munthali sustained a cut on his arm while goalkeeper Isaac Sakala had complained of body pains.
He said the players were attended to at a hospital in Sinda but will still be checked at Lundazi district hospital.
The team was coming from Lusaka where it played against Circuit City FC in a game it lost 3-1.
