POLICE in Central Province have arrested Kabwe Central PF member of Parliament Tutwa Ngulube for alleged criminal trespass and running an illegal bus station.
Ngulube, who is also a lawyer, confirmed his arrest in an interview yesterday while in police cells.
The controversial PF member, who helped President Edgar Lungu win the leadership of the ruling party at a convention following Michael Sata’s death, has lately unreservedly been critical of the PF and its government.
He last week dragged the Kabwe Council to court over a land dispute, a matter which has now seen his arrest.
He said in an interview that he was detained at Kabwe Central Police Station and his arresting officer had not yet informed him when he would appear in court.
“Yes I have been arrested and detained at Kabwe police…. I have been charged with criminal trespass and I am also accused of running an illegal bus station which has since been close,” said Ngulube adding that he was accused of criminally trespassing at a plot in one of the wards in his constituency.
