THE top spot will be at stake when Green Buffaloes visit Nkana as the MTN/FAZ Super League enters week 11 this afternoon.
With leaders Zesco United on 22 points out of action this weekend, second placed Buffaloes on 21 points will be looking to capitalise and beat third placed Nkana on 19 points to take top spot.
Buffaloes will be heading into the fixture confident that they have not lost at Nkana the past three seasons.
But Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi says it is time to break that jinx.
“We know Buffaloes is a strong team in the league. But in football there are records, some records are made and some records are broken, so we have to play well and ensure that we get maximum points,” said Chambeshi.
A win for Buffaloes would take them to 24 points and in firm charge of the league table while a win for Nkana would take them level on points with Zesco but the Wusakili boys will lead the pack by a better goal difference.
In Ndola, Buildcon will be looking to build on last week’s win over KYSA when they host good travellers Kitwe United.
Buildcon has been a much improved side since Tenant Chembo took over the club and are yet to lose a match having won two games and recorded a couple of draws.
“We have to improve from last weekend’s performance. We know that we need to get out of this position,” said Buildcon coach Tenant Chembo.
In Lusaka, NAPSA Stars are still searching for their first win of the season when they face inconsistent Zanaco.
In Lumwana, coach Zeddy Saileti will be looking to get another three points with his team now looking stable when they face tail-enders New Monze Swallows.
National Assembly host struggling KYSA, while impressive Green Eagles host Nkwazi in Choma with improved Forest Rangers hosting Nakambala.
