Magistrate summons Kambwili over Tayali’s complaint of alleged tampering with evidence

LUSAKA magistrate Sunge Chanda has summoned NDC political consultant Chishimba Kambwili to appear before her on Thursday to respond to allegations that he was tampering with court evidence.

Equity and Economic Party president Chilufya Tayali lodged a complaint against Kambwili that contempt of court be instituted against him for interfering with evidence in a case the Roan PF member of parliament is charged with forgery, uttering a false document and giving false information to a public officer, the matter that is being handled by principal resident magistrate David Simusamba.

When the case was called yesterday, Kambwili was not present before court because he had not been served the summons.

Magistrate Chanda directed the prosecution to serve Kambwili the summons to enable him appear in court on Thursday.

According to the complaint against Kambwili, it is alleged that he caused an obstruction or disturbance in the course of judicial proceedings by tampering with evidence which is a subject to active court proceedings.
