Apex student pleads not guilty to criminal trespass at State House

AN Apex University student has pleaded not guilty of criminally trespassing at State House on April 12 with intent to commit a felony.

Taking plea before magistrate Nsunge Chanda, Mulanda Zulu, 24,  a pharmacy student, denied that he unlawfully entered upon the premises of State House with intent to commit a felony. It is alleged that Zulu was seen near the main gate of State House trying to jump over the perimeter fence until he was challenged by the officers, but he claimed he had a mental  condition.

But results from Chainama Hospital where he was taken for medical examinations revealed that he had abused alcohol.

The court adjourned the matter to May 31 for commencement of trial.
