CITY of Lusaka official Edward Litana is facing disciplinary action from his club for allegedly taking pictures of banned official Simataa Simataa at Woodlands Stadium with a view to incur punishment on the club from Football House.
FAZ has banned Simataa from all football activities including access to stadia to watch FAZ organised games.
But it is alleged that Simataa on May 16 was at the stadium when City of Lusaka was playing Kafue Celtic in a league match where Litana allegedly took pictures of him with the aim of sending them to FAZ to have the club punished.
In a letter to Litana dated May 18 obtained by The Mast and signed by club interim chairperson Kaitano Chungu and secretary Bornwell Mwewa, Litana has been warned that his actions had been reported to the board for further action.
“We write to inform you that your conduct on Wednesday 16th May 2018 at Woodlands stadium has been reported to the board for further action. On the said date during our game against Kafue Celtic you are reported to have taken pictures of Mr Simataa Simataa who was in the Forli Limited offices with the aim of sending pictures to FAZ in order to elicit disciplinary actions by FAZ against your team, City of Lusaka Football Club. The pictures you took were witnessed by security personnel and have been distributed on social media,” read the letter.
When contacted, Litana who denied taking the said pictures said the interim committee only reports to FAZ and not the City of Lusaka PLC board.
He refused to comment, saying FAZ would take the right stance on the matter.
“FAZ will take its stand. As for me I will speak when the time is right,” said Litana.
When reminded about many issues around his club, Litana said City of Lusaka Football Club 1970 had no issues but City of Lusaka 2000 PLC had issues.
