RUPIAH Banda has called on Zambians to consider investing in the transportation sector.
Banda, the former Republican president, said this in Boksburg, South Africa yesterday at the launch of additional fleet for Time Trucking, a Zambian registered company.
“The transportation sector is cardinal to the development of the two economies as it will help to ease the transportation of goods and services,” Banda said, according to a statement issued by first secretary press at the Zambian mission in Pretoria, Naomi Nyawali.
He said investors had shown “deep confidence in the Zambian economy by investing in different sectors of the country”.
Banda said Zambia had seen an increase in investment portfolios by different investors due to the growing confidence in its economy.
“Increasing confidence of investors in the Zambian economy will help create employment for the local people,” he said.
Banda further said he was happy that Zambia was strengthening its international diplomacy with other countries, particularly South Africa, as “this will increase bilateral trade between the two countries”.
