POWER Dynamos and Buildcon clash in a midseason encounter in another fight for a spot in the Barclays cup.
Power in position six on the log with 30 points will be looking to win this game today, hoping Lusaka Dynamos could flop in their rescheduled games to qualify for this year’s only cup competition available in the league.
Top six teams at the season’s halfway mark qualify to the Barclays cup where they are joined by top two teams from the lower division.
Power has been an impressive side under Kelvin Kaindu and would be looking to finish the first half in the top positions to mount a serious challenge for the title in the second round.
Buildcon have also been a new side since coach Tenant Chembo joined them midway through the first half and find themselves in ninth position with 27 points and will be hoping to get three points to go to 30 points to be able to return strongly in the second round.
The most interesting game today pits two strugglers, Red Arrows in 14th position with 19 points who face relegation threatened NAPSA Stars with 10 points.
NAPSA cannot seem to find a winning formula and have already parted ways with two coaches to compound the ‘pensioners’ woes and things could get worse if they fail to win today.
Arrows are also walking a tight rope with underwhelming performances even after spending the pre-season camping in Spain.
Both teams need a win today more than ever to map a better start for the second round.
