THREE members of the same family have died out of suspected suffocation due to a fire, which burnt property in the sitting room.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata-Katongo stated in a statement today that the cause of the fire was not yet known.
“Three members of the same family died out of suspected suffocation due to fire which burnt property in the sitting room. The deceased are: the father Gezani Zulu aged 35, his daughter Naomi Zulu aged 16 and the son Titus Zulu aged 13,” Mwaata-Katongo stated.
“The neighbours could not notice the fire suspected to have happened between 01:00 hours and 03:00 hours as the house had no enough ventilation, and was only discovered by the sister-in-law of the deceased man who peeped through the broken window and later alerted the people in the neighbourhood. The bodies were not burnt and have been taken to UTH mortuary.”
Mwaata-Katongo stated that the wife to the deceased man was out to her relatives.
