Zesco, Zanaco clash

ZESCO United return to local league against Lusaka giants Zanaco as the MTN/AZ Super League enters week 27 this weekend.
And NAPSA Stars push for survival continues as they visit in-form Nkana in Wusakili this afternoon.
Zanaco, fresh from losing 4-2 at home to Nkana last weekend will be hoping to recover and conquer the defending champions who are equally looking for recovery from the dramatic CAF Champions League loss to Angola’s Agosto.
With CAF yet to decide on which teams participate in the CAF interclub competitions considering the change in the calendar, Zanaco would be looking to catch up with the top four teams with a win this afternoon.
Zanaco are in sixth position with 44 points with Zesco top of the group with 58 points.
“We have recovered from that loss to Nkana, we have worked on the weaknesses observed in that game and I think we are ready for the game against Zesco,” said coach Mumamba Numba.
The match would be preceded by a mid-table clash involving Buildcon and Kabwe Warriors.
At Nkana Stadium, the red devils who are yet to lose a march in the second half of the season will be looking to collect maximum points to cement their title-fighting credentials against a NAPSA side that is breathing some fresh air following the arrival of Mohammed Fathy to try and save them from relegation.
“NAPSA is not an easy side. They are playing good football but you see we are not looking for a draw, we are looking for a win. I think you know and everybody knows that our weakness was in the defence but after the arrival of Musa [Mohammed] there is stability at the back and we are confident that will be the case tomorrow,” said stand-in coach Manfred Chabinga.
In Choma, impressive third placed Green Eagles will be looking for another win over equally impressive Kitwe United.
Relegation battlers National Assembly host fellow strugglers New Monze Swallows.
Inconsistent Lusaka Dynamos will be looking to rebound from the 2-1 defeat to Green Buffaloes when they host strugglers Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy.
Relegation-threatened Nchanga Rangers begins life without influential captain Bwalya Kasonde who has trekked to Nkana when they host Patrick Phiri’s Nakambala Leopards.
The last game of the day sees police outfit Nkwazi in battle against ZAF outfit Red Arrows.
