China Jiangxi pledges to deliver world class Lusaka-Ndola dual-carriageway

CHINA Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation, the main contractor for the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway, has pledged to execute works of high standard and consequently deliver “a world class standard road” to Zambians.
China Jiangxi Corporation has presented Vice-President Inonge Wina a K200,000 cheque “towards the successful hosting of the Investment Forum and Expo” slated for October 8 to 13.
Company representative Long Anliang said his firm had been working with the Zambian government and its people to push the agenda of infrastructure development in various parts of the country.
Long said China Jiangxi Corporation was proud to be associated with a progressive agenda that had brought about “social and economic development to this country.”
“As you may be aware, China Jiangxi Corporation is a leading contractor in Zambia and has partnered with the Zambian government for many years since its establishment in this country about three decades ago. As you are all aware, we are the main contractor for the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway. We want to assure the nation, through you madam Vice-President, that works of high quality standard will be done and a world class standard road will be delivered to your hard-working government and Zambian people,” Long said at the Central Province Investment Forum and Expo 2018 launch at Fringilla Lodge in Chisamba on Friday where Vice-President Wina was the guest of honour.
He said during the construction period of the dual-carriageway, China Jiangxi Corporation president Xu Guojian pledged that “our corporation will construct a school and a hospital that will be handed over to the Government of the Republic of Zambia.”
Earlier this year, President Edgar Lungu launched the construction of the 321-kilometre Lusaka-Ndola dual-carriageway that would cost a confounding US $1.2 billion.
Various stakeholders roundly scoffed at the deal alleging that it was riddled with corruption.
And Long, on behalf of China Jiangxi Corporation, presented to Vice-President Wina a K200,000 cheque towards the successful hosting of the Investment Forum and Expo slated for October 8 to 13.
He said he was honoured to be invited on behalf of China Jiangxi Corporation to attend the launch of the Investment Forum and Expo 2018 for Central Province.
“The provincial government of Jiangxi Province in China is planning to establish an industrial park within Central Province [of Zambia.] We believe that such kind of economic development will bring about the much-needed economic prosperity for this province and the country large,” said Long.
“It is against the background of greater cooperation and support for progressive economic initiatives that we today hand-over a cheque worth K200,000 to support this important event.”
