Magistrate jails NIPA student 5 days for trafficking marijuana

LUSAKA magistrate Judith Chiyayika has sentenced a National Institute for Public Administration IT student to five days imprisonment with hard labour for trafficking in 0.4 grammes of marijuana. Magistrate Chiyayika convicted Chiza Chilanga upon his own admission of guilty.

Chilanga explained that the marijuana was not for sell but meant for personal use. The magistrate said she has decided to jail Chilanga five days because the offence was becoming common among students.
