SHEPOLOPOLO coach Beauty Mwamba says her team is using the COSAFA experience as a preparatory ground for the forthcoming Women Africa Cup of Nations.
Mwamba said picking maximum points from the encounter against Lesotho at the on-going COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa was a morale booster.
She said her girls struggled to record the 2-0 win against Lesotho due to the bad weather.
“Picking up three points from the first game was very important for us. It was not easy for the girls because the weather was not favourable,” she said.
“Playing Cameroon will give us a real test of what we are to expect at the AfCON, so it will be very good for the girls so they are not just playing COSAFA but they are also preparing for AfCON. So this is very good preparation for AfCON.”
Cameroon hammered Mozambique 8-1.
Asked if her team was intimidated by Cameroon, she said;
“We are not intimidated by Cameroon’s score line in their game against Mozambique. We played at different intervals and the time Cameroon was playing the weather was different. We will take the challenge as it comes but we know that our girls can manage.”
