PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has fired MMD faction leader Felix Mutati.
According to Smart Eagles, a PF social media outlet, President Lungu has replaced Mutati with Lunte member of parliament Mutotowe Kafwaya.
A couple of months ago, President Lungu demoted Mutati as finance minister, replacing him with Margaret Mwanakatwe.
The Head of State assigned Mutati to the Ministry of Works and Supply in a move widely believed was precipitated by a souring of their relationship.
President Lungu initially appointed Mutati finance minister in 2016 following a loose electoral working relationship after the latter, with support of former president Rupiah Banda, allegedly illegally grabbed MMD from Nevers Mumba through a convention dubbed illegal.
