GOVERNMENT has procured 18 Maverick and Marauder Antiriot vehicles for the Zambia Police.
According to Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja, the ten sophisticated machines are currently in South Africa awaiting conveyance to Zambia.
“Police mechanics are getting hands training on a Maverick Antiriot vehicle purchased for the police which will soon be delivered. It’s in South Africa, all provinces will be catered for. We have two types actually, one type to be used by the paramilitary and mobile unit and the other for general riot situation. The total is 18 vehicles. So it’s the Marauder and the Maverick,” Kanganja said.
Kanganja further said the Police were being proactive in preparing for any eventualities.
