ZAMBIA’S top ranked golfer Madalitso Muthiya yesterday finished second in the third round of the on-going South Africa Open Golf Tournament at 11 under par.
Muthiya was three points behind leader South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen, who is ranked 36th on the globe.
Oosthuizen, a veteran, has won seven titles from the 64 tournaments he has taken part in.
A dramatic putt on the 18th hole saw Muthiya get a par for the third round and will be continuing today as the tournament concludes.
Muthiya recorded three birdies in the back nine which took him to the top of the leaderboard at 13 under par but stitches lead him to a number of bogeys that drowned him back to ninth position before he made a come-back and settle at position 2 along with South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel and Matt Wallace of England.
The putting and teeing continues today at Randpark Golf Club and the winner of the tournament will be crowned later in the day after conclusion of the fourth round.
