Zambeef butchery assistant in court for defaming Lungu

A 24-YEAR-OLD Lusaka butchery assistant has appeared in the magistrates’ court for defaming President Edgar Lungu.
Steven Phiri, who works at Zambeef Woodlands, is charged with defamation of the President with allegations being that the accused on October 24 in Lusaka with intent to bring the name of the President into ridicule published an insulting matter by word to which he said “Ba President Edgar Lungu mapolo yabo” (meaning testicles of the President).
Phiri is expected to take plea on Monday before magistrate Nthandose Chabala.
