PF thrives on confusion – Ngwira

UNPD national youth information and publicity secretary Samuel Ngwira says the Patriotic Front thrives on confusion hence their intentions to arrest our Sesheke candidate Romeo Kang’ombe.

Police have summoned Kang’ombe, who is UPND’s candidate in the forth-coming Sesheke Constituency by-election on allegations of human trafficking.

But Ngwira alleged that the PF had failed to pick a credible candidate for the by-election.

“Failure by the Patriotic Front government to list and adopt a credible candidate for the Sesheke parliamentary by-election seven days before the official nomination day speaks volumes of how confused and scared they are. Mr Edgar Lungu and PF are headed for a humiliating defeat in Sesheke parliamentary by-elections and worse still in the presidential and general elections of August 2021 or anytime soon,” Ngwira said.
“We, the UPND youths, know that PF thrives in creating confusion, and we know exactly what they intend to achieve by threatening to arrest UPND’s youthful parliamentary candidate and businessman Romeo Kang’ombe. Remember in Chilanga, PF shamelessly used the wife of an imprisoned former lawmaker Keith Mukata to discredit the UPND candidate Charmaine Musonda.”

He said President Lungu’s popularity would be put to a test in the by-election.

“However, Sesheke is a totally different playing field and Mr Lungu’s popularity, which is financed by corruption money shall be put to test in the parliamentary by-election. When you look at Mr Lungu, it’s very difficult for him to demonstrate integrity, honesty and respect for the rule of law like a good lawyer ought to do. He is far too from that,” he said.

Ngwira further alleged that President Lungu was happy with poor performance of his ministers.

“Mr Lungu has never disciplined any minister of his inept cabinet for failed performance and yet not long-ago PF secretary General Davies Mwila dissolved the entire leadership in Lumwezi in Petauke following the party’s humiliating defeat by UPND. Unless Lungu is very happy with the dismal performance of some of his ministers, if not all ministers, his forthrightness is strongly questionable; kuwayawayfye,” he said.

Ngwira said the PF should not run in the election as a way avoiding defeat.

“It is shameful for a ruling party to engage in a witch-hunt against the UPND candidate as a result of its own failure to find a credible candidate in the forthcoming Sesheke parliamentary by-election. As far as the UPND national youth wing is concerned, in 2019, Mr Lungu will deliver far below his poor performance of 2018; no two ways about that. Instead of waiting for a humiliating defeat, it’s better for Mr Lungu to throw in the towel now because he has absolutely nothing new to offer except damaging the economy more and more,” said Ngwira
