Lightning strikes PF camp in Sesheke, kills one

LIGHTNING on Tuesday afternoon struck the camp of the ruling Patriotic Front, killing one person and injuring seven others.

Western Province police commissioner Charles Zulu confirmed the incident which he said happened in Nayanda Village in chief Silumbu’s area in Sesheke around 15:00 hours.

Zulu said eight people were present at the time the lightning struck while others had gone to campaign.

He said a woman died of severe burns while seven others sustained serious burns and were currently hospitalised.

Sesheke is currently a hive of political activities as parties campaign for the February 12 parliamentary by-election.
