THE True Music Experience, a musical tour promoted by Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky, will in a fortnight make its way to Lusaka.
Three local artistes, Davaos, Bomb$hell and Jae Izzy, are Zambia’s representatives in the True Music Experience scheduled for Club Freedom 64 on March 16. The event will be the second edition of the tour, following the first held last November.
According to a statement, the Ballantine’s True Music Tour continues to “support True Music artistes who follow their own paths and make music born out of passion.
“… True Music celebrates artists that do it their way. Whether they are just starting out or already global stars. They aren’t in it for the glitz and glamour, but simply to make the music which they truly believe in, for them as artists, and you, their fans.”
Nigerian superstar D’banj (real name Oladapo Oyebanjo) will once again be the host and mentor for the True Music Tour.
The three Zambian reps say they are thrilled to be a part of the event.
“I am truly grateful to Ballantine’s for the great opportunity to broaden my understanding of the music business,” dancehall duo Davaos is quoted as saying.
And Bomb$hell is clearly looking forward to working with D’banj.
“My interaction with D’banj who mentored me has been exceptional and has changed my perception of the music industry,” she said.
Jae Izzy said he is excited about the forthcoming tour.
“I intend to show the growth I have attained as an artist from the first tour and mentorship by D’banj,” the ‘If not’ singer said.
Meanwhile, Ballantine’s brand manager Ziyanda Malaba says the tour provides artistes the opportunity to grow.
“This is in line with Ballantine’s belief to create platforms that support the growth of local artistes and give them the necessary tools to broaden their exposure and reach,” said Malaba.
