PATRIOTIC Front media director Sunday Chanda says the letter purporting to have been issued by Zesco authorising a payment to Patriotic Front secretary general Davies Mwila is the imagination of small and disgruntled criminal minds. A letter allegedly written by Zesco director of finance confirming the disbursement of K3 million to Mwila following a request of K10 million was widely circulated yesterday.
But in a brief reaction, Chanda said PF does not receive any funding from Zesco or any government corporation. He stated that no corporation pays anyone at the Patriotic Front secretariat.
“It has come to our attention that there is a letter purported to have been issued by Zesco authorising a payment to the Patriotic Front Secretary General Hon Davies Mwila. We wish to inform the general public that the said letter is the imagination of small and disgruntled criminal minds,” Chanda stated.
Chanda urged members of the public to disregard the “hogwash emanating from those who refuse to accept that Patriotic Front remains Zambia’s number one party of choice.”
“These parastatals are audited and it’s therefore a no-brainer that no such funding exists. We are actually shocked at the lack of creativity characterising the opposition’s propaganda machinery.”
