KABUSHI PF member of parliament Bowman Lusambo says he slapped NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili at Parliament buildings in order to fulfil the scripture which says spare the rod and spoil the child. Spare the rod and spoil the child is a proverb implying “if children are not physically punished when they do wrong, their personal development will suffer.”
He mocked Kambwili who he slapped at Parliament buildings in October 2017. He said in the words of scripture, he got so fed up with Kambwili’s arrogance and behaviour that he ended up slapping him at Parliament.
“I slapped Kambwili in order to fulfil scripture when it says spare the rod and spoil the child,” Lusambo said.
He appealed to the residents of Roan to give PF candidate Joel Chibuye an opportunity to redeem the constituency. Lusambo said the PF government of President Edgar Lungu would have absolutely no encumbrance in delivering development with Kambwili out of the way. Lusambo also said the UPND failed to field a candidate because they were ashamed of what its leader Hakainde Hichilema had done. Lusambo asked the residents of Luanshya to interrogate the immediate past Roan Constituency MP, Kambwili, on the whereabouts of the Ndola-Luanshya railway line.
He told Roan residents that UPND was too ashamed to float its own candidate because of the damage Hichilema did to the Luanshya miners and their families.
Lusambo, who is also Lusaka Province minister, told the residents of Roan that their development story would have been different and inspiring had Hichilema paid the over 12,000 employees of the Roan Antelope Mining Corporation of Zambia (RAMCOZ) at privatisation.
Lusambo claimed that it was immoral for the UPND leader to pay himself and his partners when thousands of Luanshya miners were left to suffer.
“UPND has completely failed to present a candidate in Roan Constituency because Hakainde Hichilema knows exactly the role he played in collapsing the Roan Antelope Mining Corporation of Zambia (RAMCOZ),” charged Lusambo. “Hichilema and his partner, Mr Mulenga, overpaid themselves before paying a single ngwee to the employees! We are shocked today that he wishes to distance himself from the misfortune he imposed on the residents of Luanshya.”
The Zambian government had hired Hichilema to do consultancy work on the privatisation and he was paid for his services.
However, the PF, playing a belief in propaganda that says a lie consistently told a number of times is believed, has often accused the opposition leader of privatisation failures.
Meanwhile, Copperbelt PF chairman Nathan Chanda questioned the level of thinking in the alliance of opposition political parties if they could find it fit to pick a political nonentity to represent the people of Roan.
“It does not make sense that in the midst of the much needed development in Roan, Kambwili would choose to impose on you a political child in diapers as your representative. Something is very wrong in their heads and they should not take you the good people of Luanshya for a ride,” said Chanda.
