FRESH from performing badly at the just ended 2019 Mopani/Redpath /GreenDoor Zambia Open Golf tournament last week, Zambian golfers have a tough task to redeem themselves as the Zanaco Masters Golf Open tees off today.
Zambia’s top golfer Madalitso Muthiya will again be representing Zambia in the tournament and will be facing off with internationally renowned golfers who have all converged at the Lusaka Golf Club for the prestigious tournament.
This year, the Zanaco Masters which has never been won by a Zambian is over K1.7 million rich and players from over 44 countries will be putting for the prize money.
Defending Champion JJ Senekal who won the title last year at the same venue has also entered for the tournament and will be hoping to repeat his performance.
Also taking part in the tournament is last week’s winner of the Mopani/GreenDoor/Redpath winner Daniel Van Tonder.
A total of 144 golfers under the Sunshine Tour will be taking part in the four-day tournament that would see the champion being crowned on Sunday afternoon after a total of four rounds for all golfers.
