ZANACO coach Dabid Chilufya says his team is blending well.
And Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane says he has always been impressed with Zambian football.
The two coaches were speaking after their teams drew goalless at Sunset Stadium in an international friendly game on Wednesday.
Chilufya, however, said the team was yet to do finishing touches with their training ahead of the CAF inter club tournament.
“It is a very good training game, they have given us a punch. We have seen where our weaknesses are and where we need to improve and what we have done. I’m happy with the way the boys have performed because we have new players who have come in and we are trying to put them together. They have shown that they are CAF material and we hope to do better in the confederation,” Chilufya said.
“We want to marry the players to see which defence we can use in the league and in the continental but looking at them now, the defence is solid. This is not the best performance, we are just polishing up; by the time we get to CAF, we will be much better.”
And Mosimane said the game was good for his team’s preparation for the 2019 season.
“I was very pleased with our preparation because Zanaco gave us a very good match, this is what we wanted; the intensity, the numbers that came to cheer Zanaco also made the game to have the right intensity. They assembled a good team, we could have stolen it before half time [but] they came back in the last 30 minutes,” he said.
“I have always been impressed with Zambian football, this is one country that gives very good account in terms of talent.”
The friendly game was part of Zanaco’s preparation for the upcoming season.
