CHIPOLOPOLO coach Aggrey Chiyangi has described the goalless draw against Botswana as a good result.
The two sides drew 0-0 in Francistown on Friday evening in the Total 2020 CHAN first leg qualifier, with the return match set for next Saturday.
Chiyangi’s team failed to register a single shot at goal throughout 90 minutes.
However, Chiyangi said getting a draw away from home was better than losing.
“It’s a good result, playing away and we get a draw is the worst that we expected, we didn’t score, but we didn’t want to lose,” Chiyangi said in his post-match comments.
“We will go back and plan well for them. Botswana are playing very well, even the COSAFA was not easy so the return match will be very tough but us, we want to go to the next round,” he said.
Botswana coach Mogomotsi Mpote believes his side can shock Zambia in Lusaka.
“We missed a lot of chances…but if they can come here and get a draw, we can win. We can go there and surprise them,” said Chiyangi.
Winner over two legs would face either Angola or Eswatini in the final qualifying round.
