CHIPOLOPOLO defender Simon Silwimba has assured soccer fans of victory in Saturday’s CHAN first round, second leg qualifier against Botswana.
Chipolopolo take on Botswana in Lusaka having drawn 0-0 in the first leg in Francistown last Friday.
Aggrey Chiyangi’s boys must win on Saturday to qualify to the final round where they’ll face the winner between Angola and eSwatini, who also settled for a nil-all draw in the first leg in Mbabane.
Zambia has not broken camp since returning from Botswana.
Speaking after yesterday’s training at Miller grounds in Lilayi area in Lusaka, Silwimba said the team was treating the match as a must win.
“We must win this game, in fact, we will win the game. Those that watched the game in Botswana, we had several scoring chances, one-on-ones but we couldn’t just score, but we will win this game,” Silwimba said.
He said players understand the pressure facing them but stressed they were ready to handle any pressure that come with a game of such magnitude.
“Pressure is everywhere but every football player has to expect pressure, we will certainly manage and we will beat Botswana come Saturday. Our fans should not be demoralised, we are going to win,” he said.
The match will be played at the National Heroes stadium.
