ZIGER Trading Limited has sued Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo over non-payment of K147,800 which emanated from supply and printing services rendered to him.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court, Ziger Trading Limited stated that on February 22, 2019, Lusambo of House No 5, Hybrid Road, Chamba Valley engaged the plaintiff for purposes of supply and printing of materials at an agreed price of K147,800.
Ziger Trading said that Lusambo was expected to pay the money on February 22, 2019 when it fell due and the plaintiff has been engaging him on diverse occasions with the view of settling the matter but he (Lusambo) has not been forth coming.
The applicants said that they would aver at trial that they made several demands to the Kabushi member of parliament by himself and also through his lawyers but the he has been unyielding to the demands.
Ziger contended that Lusambo made several promises to pay the said debt but that he has never fulfilled his promises to settle the outstanding amount.
The printing company said that due to Lusambo’s holding on to the payment, it had incurred loss and damage because of the cost of the materials, which they supplied to him, as it was initially got on credit at K110,000, with hopes that they would pay their creditors after the Kabushi MP paid for the supply and service provided to him.
Ziger further stated that owing to Lusambo’s action, they have continued to suffer loss and damage and is now claiming an order for immediate payment of K147,800.
It also wants damages, interest, and any other relief the court may deem fit.
