Lusaka police stumble on human leg, looking for owner

POLICE have stumbled on a freshly-amputated human leg in Lusaka’s Garden Compound whose owner is yet to be found.

According to police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo, the left leg was found as police patrolled the crime-plagued area around the sewer ponds around 16:40 on Tuesday.

“The lower limb was found with some fresh blood and part of it was bandaged,” Katongo stated in a statement.

Katongo stated that next to the “ownerless” leg was a black plastic and police suspected that the discovered body part could have been wrapped on the same polythene after amputation and later disposed it off.

“The leg has been taken to UTH (University Teaching Hospital) mortuary for custody while investigations have been instituted,” stated Katongo.
