CHIPOLOPOLO caretaker coach Aggrey Chiyangi says his players need to prove their worth in tomorrow’s friendly encounter against Niger.
Chiyangi, who is with the team in Niger for a preparatory game ahead of AfCON qualifiers later in the month, challenged players to put in their best of effort to earn themselves spots in the team.
“My only message to all the players is that once you are given the chance, you just have to make sure that you do your best and prove that you deserve that position,” Chiyangi said.
“We have very important games that we have to play; the AfCON qualifiers, those games are very important. We need to get the best out of every player that plays. For those that are with the Under 23, we excuse them because we also want them to have the team that they have been using so that they can qualify for the Olympics because it is also important for Zambia to go to the Olympics.”
The team is preparing for the 2020 Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations, which starts in November and Zambia will be taking on Algeria on November 11 in that country and later play against neighbouring Zimbabwe on November 21 at home.
