PROFLIGHT Zambia has launched flight service connecting Solwezi travellers to Johannesburg.
According to a statement from Langmead Media, the airline has timed its new direct flights from Ndola’s Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to ensure seamless connections with its service between Solwezi and Ndola.
“Travellers can depart from Solwezi at 06:30 hrs on Wednesdays and Fridays and be in Johannesburg in four hours, at 10:35hrs. The four-hour return journey departs from Johannesburg at 11:40 hrs, getting passengers back to Solwezi at 15:40 hrs,” reads the statement. “Proflight’s direct three-times-a-week service between Ndola and Johannesburg aligns with government’s drive to link Zambia with the region, and provides a local airline choice with the shortest journey time, without multiple airline ticketing.”
The statement says the new route is set to boost trade and investment between Zambia’s mining hubs of Solwezi and Ndola with South Africa’s main business centre of Johannesburg, as well as linking travellers through Proflight’s interline connections to Cape Town and the rest of the world.
“Proflight Zambia is spreading its wings across the region, adding a service from Johannesburg to Solwezi via Ndola that saves time and supports local business,” Barbara Namwila, Proflight Zambia sales and marketing manager, said.
She urged travellers to support the local airline.
“Fly Zambia! Our service is reliable, and we have a convenient flight schedule that is effective in allowing further domestic and international connections,” said Namwila.
